Mr. Brownlow is a founder of Stonehill and serves as President. He has extensive capital markets, investment and development experience spanning multiple industry cycles and encompassing all sectors of commercial and residential real estate. Mr. Brownlow has been an active industry participant since 1971. He began his career with Lomas & Nettleton Mortgage Company where he became their Executive Vice President of Commercial Lending. Mr. Brownlow left Lomas & Nettleton to join The Vantage Companies as Senior Vice President of Finance. In this capacity, and later as President of Vantage Financial Services (VFS), which he established, Mr. Brownlow was responsible for all debt, equity, joint ventures, acquisition and disposition activities for all of the Vantage investment and development subsidiaries. While serving as President of VFS, Mr. Brownlow oversaw $5 billion of investment and development production in addition to serving on the Executive and Finance Committees.

Mr. Brownlow formed Stonehill Realty Capital (SRC) in late 1987 to serve as the outside consultant to The Vantage Companies and its creditors. SRC has since operated successfully as a debt and equity provider for third party clients as well as its own account.

In 2003, Mr. Brownlow created a venture with The Henry S. Miller Companies (HSM) to form Henry S. Miller Investment Banking Group and Henry S. Miller Equity Partners. Mr. Brownlow served as President of both of these entities, which were successful in financing and acquiring assets in excess of $120 million. Jim left HSM in June, 2004 to re-establish Stonehill in a new partnership with Chicago-based PRM Realty Group. Stonehill-PRM is an investment and development platform that has been established to continue the successful pursuit of investment and development strategies that are formulated and executed by the firm's Partners. Mr. Brownlow is involved in creating and executing these strategies as well as developing the client capital that is required to implement these programs in partnership with Stonehill-PRM.

Mr. Brownlow serves as a real estate investment Advisor or Trustee to several prominent family trusts. He has been active within various industry organizations including the Mortgage Bankers Association, the Urban Land Institute (Council Member), the Real Estate Council, and the University of Texas Real Estate Center at the McCombs School of Business. He is also involved in the Alzheimer's Association and The Texas Neurofibromatosis Foundation.

Mr. Brownlow is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Business with a degree in Finance.
